The Certificate IV offers a qualification to on-site managers in practical on-site environmental management to manage your site's compliance issues and environmental responsibilities.
This 5-day full-time course, the only one of its kind, provides grounding in the therory and practice of enviornmental management.ÿ Of great value are the practical day-to-day measures. When you graduate, you will be well equipped to identify and implement critical aspects of an Environmental Management System on your site.

SAPIRA Spill Response Training - MSAPMSUP172A Follow Environmental Work Practices
This course is aimed at those who will be responsible for the control of spill response incidents and those attending. This course provides a number of simulated spill events where the participants are required to put in place the plans and procedures.
The objective of this training is to reinforce policy such as environmental legislation, hazard identification, PPE requirements, spill response, report and reorder procedures, as well as prevention guidelines.
This training covers:
Relevant legislation and the environmental Duty of Care
Risk management/risk reduction: local and global risks
Identify environmental threats
Defensive/offensive spill management
Your role within the site spill plan
Analysis of sensitive areas on the spill site
Correctly identify and handle hazardous materials
Spill response procedures
Contain and recover hazardous materials and other liquid spills.
The competency gained is based on theoretical knowledge and practical simulation.ÿ On completion, the attendee receives a Statement of Attainment.
Absorb Training also offers a non-accredited SAPIRA Basic - Environmental Awareness and Spill Kit Induction.
The SAPIRA Basic training provides staff with a basic level of training in environmental awareness and spill kit induction. The level and depth of this training is aimed at the general employee. The course will provide the necessary environmental training to address your due diligence requirements.

SAPIRA Basic Plus
The SAPIRA Basic Plus training provides staff with the same basic level of training supplied in the SAPIRA Basic course, however in addition attendees are required to demonstrate their knowledge by participating in a simulated spill exercise.

Absorbent Selection criteria
Eight Steps - Handling a Spill. These include the use of Personal Protection Equipment and spent product disposal.
Simulated spill based on a limited number of scenarios, where attendees are required to demonstrate their knowledge of spill response procedures.
Attendees will be split into smaller groups and will participate in the practical component of the course
A "record of training" and individual certificates of attendance are issued following the training.
