Absorb’s suite of training packages has evolved to include three distinct packages.
These are:

Certificate IV in On-site Environmental Management (30657QLD)

This new course is a match for the OHS qualifications for on site managers, and provides a Certificate IV competency in practical environmental issues. The first of its kind in Australia, it’s a 5 day full time course that provides grounding in the theory and practice of environmental management.

Of great value are the practical day-to-day measures that help you ensure Environmental Compliance. When you graduate, you’ll be well equipped to identify and implement critical aspects of an Environmental Management System for your site.

SAPIRA NRT Follow Environmental Work Practices (PMASUP120A)

This course is for those who require nationally recognised training for spill response incidents. It reinforces company policy on issues like PPE requirements, report and reorder procedures and legislation and prevention guidelines. This course provides simulated spill events wherethe participants are required to put in place the plans and procedures.

This nationally recognised course is delivered in partnership with registered training organization 60125: Brendan Viti.

You’ll Learn How To:
• Correctly identify and handle hazardous materials
• Work according to site procedures and any local legislative requirements
• Environmental Duty of Care
• Relevant Legislation EPA Act, Dangerous Goods Act, EPBC Act.
• Your role within the Site Spill Plan.
• Risk Management/ Risk Reduction: Local and Global Risks
• Analysis of Sensitive areas on the spill site
• Contain and recover hazardous materials and other liquid spills

• Assess

• PPE/ MSDS
• Spill Clean-up Procedure for: Water, Soil, Bitumen and Concrete
• Disposal: Options for Regulated Waste, 5 Docket System

SAPIRA BASIC Environmental Awareness and Spill Kit Induction

This is our basic course and one of the most popular. The level and depth of this course is ideal for the general employee. It provides the necessary environmental training to address your due diligence requirements. Ideal for all personnel who are required to use spill response kits and equipment. Meet requirements of AS1940.All e30 pp per session

You’ll Learn:
• Individual environmental duty of care
• Absorbent selection criteria
• The 8 steps to respond to a spill

You’ll Learn How To:
• Handle a spill
• Select and use the right personal protective equipment
• Dispose of spent absorbent
